Welcome to the Bedford Boomers

Since 1982

The Bedford Boomers are an informal modular railroad group with roots in southern New Hampshire. We actually have members in all six New England states as well as New York, New Jersey, and Ohio. Our modular layout consists of individually constructed and owned modules that range from scale reproductions of prototype areas to dragons and Viking long boats. The primary concept being that model railroading is fun and organizations such as the Boomers should be inclusive, thus allowing the serious as well as beginners to enjoy the hobby.

In addition to our annual exhibition the Boomers are active in our local communities. Activities include constructing or helping maintain permanent displays at the Goffstown, NH Historical Society; Bedford, NH Public Library; Manchester, NH VA Hospital & Nursing Home; and Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, ME. Over the years the Boomers have compiled a record of over 40 benefit exhibitions including 13 consecutive “Father’s Days” (week long) displays at the Anheuser Busch Merrimack, NH Brewery Tour Center at the Manchester, NH and this year will participate in the Manchester, NH YMCA 2006 annual fundraiser.

The philosophy of the Boomers is best represented by our motto:

NO OFFICERS!
  NO DUES!
    NO POLITICS!
