What's A Boomer?
A boomer is a migrant railroad worker. We began meeting
over 21 years ago at the Bedford Village Depot Hobby Shop. We've since
evolved into a group of model railroad enthusiasts spanning all scales
and aspects of the hobby. Some of us appear below.
We don't have a formal meeting place. Each Tuesday evening
we get together at a member's home either to assist in constructing their
layout or to conduct an operating session. The upcoming
meetings page contains the places we'll be over the next few weeks.
On the fourth Tuesday of every month (except November and December) we
meet at the Bedford Library at 7:15 pm. These meetings are open to the
public.
On or about the first full weekend in November we hold
our annual Model Railroad Exhibition at the McKelvie School in Bedford.
The show is open to the public on Sunday from 10:00 to 4:00 and features
LGB, HO, N, and O scale layouts as well as clinics, circus memorabilia,
and weather permitting, a live steam train. All ages are welcome. Click
